Good race of Jose Antonio Butron in the Belgian Grand Prix, where he obtained a fifth in the second race. However, I had to retire at the first because of problems rear brake of his bike.
The last European round of the World Motocross 2014 was played at the legendary circuit of Lommel. The last time the World MX visited this circuit was two seasons ago in the Motocross of Nations. Belgium is the birthplace of world Motocross and this made displace up to 21000 spectators to the circuit of Lommel among which were many Spaniards who came to encourage Jose Butron.
José has made this final part of the championship in ascending and in each GP has been shown to gradually returned to be competitive and able to roll between five finishers. In Lommel things started well on Saturday made a good start in qualifying manga and achieved sixth place which ensured a good place for both races on Sunday.
Sunday starts were not the best, but nevertheless always managed to be among the top ten. In the first race all went well, rolling at a good pace until with ten minutes to a problem with the rear brake of the bike meant I had to leave the race. This definitely was a blow to José looked like for the first time this season went without scoring a race. Yet José returned to go everywhere in the final set, where after leaving fought third place in the first round by the head of the race but this time the top four had a better race pace. From there José was dedicated to keeping the distance over the group and crossed the checkered flag at a comfortable fifth place.
The abandonment in the first round prevented José back to get a result which certainly had approached the head group in the championship MX2.
The World Motocross now enters a month off due to the cancellation of the GP of Ukraine and will return to action in the first week of September in Brazil.
Jose Antonio Butron: "This weekend I had a good feeling in the circuit of Lommel. I've been training very hard in the sand for the past two months and wanted to get a good result. In the first race I was not lucky, but in the second I got a good result. It was a very difficult race because most of the time I was only rolling and this made it difficult to maintain a good pace. "
